Woman in Labrynth

Ariadne gets definitely entangled with the island's thread and Theseus proves to be an utter fool. Photo: Minotaur.

Silenced Beauty Contest

Here I am wearing a t-shirt with an image presenting repeated fragments of a beauty contest in the 60s. Sometimes, when I wear it, jokingly declare I feature in the picture and people starts looking for my face in the print, but... I was a baby in the 60s! Picture by Tres taken inside an installation at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris, in 2007.

Conference Museo del Traje

Inaugural conference of the course "Models of seduction. The Social Construction of Glamour, Beauty and Desire" I coordinated for the Museo del Traje (Madrid) in auttum 2007. In my talk, entitled "Models of Seduction. Beauty as Symbol", I introduced the cycle and presented my research on the cultural history of modelling. Photo: Julieta Vartabedian.

Barcelona: the writing in the wall

"In Barcelona it is all a lie", affirmed the graffitti in the square I lived at the centre of Barcelona. A picture taken by my neighbour and friend Montse Gisbert in 2004. Very dissapointed with the city politics...

A single act of carelessness...

"A single act of carelessness leads to the eternal loss of beauty", affirms this terrible warning in Beijing's Forbidden City. Horrified, I read it with an eco-aesthetic error in my hands. Photography: Tres.

Desire and Danger

Hurt, in the presence of the Vesubius. The painting "Judith beheading Holofernes" by Artemisia Gentileschi, in the Museo di Capodimonte, made a great impression to me, for it expressed the rage and the gried I hold inside me, and even more. You can see it in http://www.wga.hu/frames-e.html?/bio/g/gentiles/artemisi/biograph.html The picture was taken, of course, in Naples in the scorching summer of 2005 by my friend Dr Tina Iachini.
