I am currently working on a popularising book on Sociology of the body, media, fashion and advertising. The book aims to research the beauty standards regulating bodily appearance as norms for acceptable identity. In its first stage of project development, the findings, based in historical and oral sources, has been published in several academic journals and publications. Some aspects of this project, specifically those proposed in the project "Body, gender and Identity. Towards a Critical Pedagogy of the Social Construction of Bodily Ideals", have been developed with support from the award Francesca Bonnemaison Research Grant for Equal Opportunities and Gender, granted by the Office for the Promotion of Equality Women-Men (City Councils of the Barcelona province) in 2008.
